This window is used to enter Quality Assurance test results. It can also be used in conjunction with the Process — QA and Tracking Menu to maintain and add test result sets.

When a part is received into inventory and has a regime and its Quality assurance tested flag is set in the Part Maintenance window, the user is provided with this window into which they should enter the Quality Control test results.

NOTE: During inventory movements data is manipulated inside a serialized transaction so that all data changes are applied, or none at all in fault conditions. If user-entry were allowed during this process deadlocks could occur, locking other users out of the database for an indeterminate period. So, when a part movement subject to a QA Test is encountered a test record is created automatically with a blank result set within the serialized transaction. After the whole transaction is completed successfully this Quality Results window, with the blank results set, will open automatically, for each part so encountered to allow the user to enter the test results.

This subwindow is used to define the range criteria for a selection of part test results. It is displayed on windows requiring their selection.

Parent Windows

Part Quality Assurance Test Report Selection
Link System Maintenance
Graphical Analysis Maintenance – Graphs Tab

Operation

Enter data in the data entry boxes to restrict the range of parts. Records must meet all criteria entered to be selected. If the left and/or right data entry boxes are left blank for a particular criteria, parts will be selected between the first and/or last otherwise qualifying part record. Data entry boxes can be populated by finding a single item using Keyword Search, drag and drop from the Parts ScratchPad, or by double-clicking a list item from the Keyword Result window.

Data records can be obtained using one of the following methods or a combination of them (see Tip below):

Enter values into the selection ranges and use the Standard Search. The context menu provides a Clear Selection function.

Define or use a Custom Search.

Create an Ad Hoc Search Calculation using the context menu function.

Drag-and-drop one or more lines from the Parts ScratchPad (or BoM and Where-Used Listing) onto the general window area.

Use the ScratchPad Transfer Selected function

Use the KeyWord Search Transfer Selected function

TIP: Using an Ad Hoc Search Calculation (3) overrides any Custom Search (2) and a Custom Search overrides the Standard Search (1). In any of the search cases (1, 2 or 3), ScratchPad Transfer and Drag-and-Drop or KeyWord Search Transfer (4, 5 or 6) is combinational, so that records found using any of these methods must also conform to the search criteria adopted.

NOTE: This window contains fields introduced with version 5 that enable additional search (and sometimes sort controls), such as Adhoc extra where.
The traceability system in the program works by recording all movements of parts marked as Tracked.

The Tracing Sources and Tracing Destinations functions of the Process — QA and Tracking Menu enables you to view Tracking data and identify the sources of material that has been used in a product or where purchased material or components have been used and are contained within products sent to customers.

You are provided with the Trace Selection window within which you can select a source or destination batch for review.

The trace list will show the passage of the selected batch through all movements and ultimately to the dispatches to customers of all products. If you click on a line in the list any history record from Purchase, Sales or Works History that is identified by the reference will be examined and details displayed below the list. This information is only available if a direct link can be made with the reference selected.

If you wish to view a further trace, click on the Trace Again button.

This window is provided for you to select a source or destination batch for review in the Tracing List of the Source of Deliveries OR Destination of Supplies window.

Select the Part of interest in the normal manner. The navigation arrows and ScratchPad can be used.

Having selected a part that has tracking data, you can then either enter a Batch identification or a Reference. The reference for supplier receipts is either the Purchase reference or a code constructed from the Supplier code, Purchase Order number and Line number on the order. You can either enter the code in the Reference field or the three components separately. When you tab out of any field the system will attempt to locate the nearest match to the target record.

Alternatively, you can check the List for Part checkbox which will mean that the list is populated with the available tracking records for the part, from which you can select a line.

Having made your selection, confirm with an OK. The Trace list will then be built and displayed.

Non-Conformance Reports

When a quantity of a part is, at any time, moved into a Quarantine multi-location, a Non-Conformance Report record will be created. A unique number is assigned. This number can be pre-set in the System Manager, Company Details, Document Numbers window. Creation of a Non-Conformance Report record is optional. The user is prompted at the time. At the time the Quarantine is made the Non-Conformance Report details window will open and you can enter any comments you wish. Thereafter the records can be accessed by selecting the Non-Conformance Reports function from the QA and Tracking hierarchical menu.

NOTE: During inventory movements data is manipulated inside a serialized transaction so that all data changes are applied, or none at all in fault conditions. If user-entry were allowed during this process deadlocks could occur, locking other users out of the database for an indeterminate period. So, when a part movement leads to quarantine stock, a NCR row will be created automatically within the transaction. After the transaction completes you will be offered the choice of deleting it or entering details of the non-conformance.

You can use the Create button to add a new Non-Conformance Report record. When you do this you must enter all the details yourself, unlike the automatic creation when parts are moved into quarantine.

From this window you can print labels for the report or an NCR certificate.

The Quantity Remaining and the Final Date/Time are not automatically determined. They can be edited, along with any comments.

This subwindow is used to define the range criteria for a selection of Non-Conformance Report records. It is displayed on windows requiring their selection.

Parent Windows

This window opens when you use the Process — QA and Batch Tracking — Print Certificate function. You will have to have selected a quality record in the Quality Results Data Maintenance window first.
