General Program Functions: Print Stored Report

Print Stored Report

The Stored Report Destination exploits a capability of the system to create an internal binary image of a report before passing that to a devise that will in turn pass it to a physical printing device or file format. It is in effect a low-level definition of the report’s output. When you chose the Stored report destination the output of the report subsequently printed is captured (along with other data that would have been used for an email at the time, for example). This window is opened from File — Print Stored Report and enables you to print the stored report to an alternative device, such as a Printer, or Email.

The list is populated by all Stored Reports that you have privileges to view and print. If you are an Administrator that will be all Stored Reports. Otherwise you will only see those you yourself created or that you have been given access to when the report was created (or maintained) by virture of the Users and Groups applied, and your Group membership.

Simply select the report you want to print, chose a destination other than Stored and Print.

If the destination you choose is Email then the email supporting data, such as Title and Message will be generated in the same way it would have been for the originally created Stored Report as if it had been sent to Email at the time. This does mean that such things as embedded data, email addresses and like retain their original values.
